NEW DELHI - A dust storm which lashed several parts of the capital Thursday brought down the maximum temperature to 35.5 degrees Celsius, five notches below average, a Met department official said.

“Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 35.5 degrees Celsius which was five degrees below average. This drop in the temperature came because of a dust storm which lashed several parts of the city,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

While the maximum temperature was five degrees below what is the average at this tie of the year, the minimum was 28.4 degrees Celsius, three degrees above average.

According to IMD, the national capital may experience thunderstorms and rain later in the evening.

The weather office has forecast a cloudy sky with a possibility of thunderstorms and rain for Friday too.
