Mercury crosses 46-degree mark in Chhattisgarh

RAIPUR - Chhattisgarh recorded the highest ever temperature of the current season Thursday with mercury going past the 46 degrees Celsius mark.

Raipur recorded 46.1 degrees Celsius, the highest in the state in the current summer spell while the state’s second most populous town Bilaspur recorded 45.6 degrees Celsius, K.L. Chandrakar of the meteorological department said here.

He forecast a further rise in temperature in the state in the next two-three days.
