Pactiv invests $14.5M in takeout container project
LAKE FOREST, Ill. — Pactiv Corp., the maker of Hefty garbage bags and other packaging products, said Monday it has completed the first three phases of a $14.5 million project to produce food takeout containers at its Moorhead, Minn., facility.
The project is expected to be fully operational by October, the company said, adding that its three new manufacturing lines added 25 jobs.
The containers are made from environmentally sustainable wood pulp fibers and are compostable, Pactiv said.
Shares slid 16 cents to $28.71 in early afternoon trading.
