NEW DELHI - Beginning on a misty note, Tuesday was a warm day in the capital with the temperature above average for this time of the year.

The Met department attributed the rise in temperature to cloudy skies.

“A shallow blanket of fog engulfed the capital today (Tuesday). The skies remained partly cloudy because of which the temperatures remained above the average,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

The minimum temperature recorded early Tuesday was 16.7 degrees Celsius, four notches above average. The maximum temperature was a notch above average at 30.6 degrees.

The maximum humidity level recorded was 94 percent.

The Met department has forecast the minimum and the maximum temperatures Wednesday to touch 18 and 30 degrees Celsius respectively.
