NEW DELHI - It was a warm Sunday in the national capital, with the maximum temperature a notch above the average. Similar conditions are expected over the next few days, the weather office said.

Sunday’s maximum temperature was recorded at 21.9 degrees Celsius, while the minimum settled at 8.5 degrees, a notch below average for this time of the season.

“Chilly winds will continue to blow in evenings and early mornings resulting in the dipping of minimum temperatures next week,” an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The maximum and minimum humidity were recorded at 92 and 39 percent respectively, the official said.

The weather office added that Delhi can expect similar weather Monday.

“A light mist cover will envelope the city in the morning. Once the sun comes out, it will be a warm and clear day. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 22 and 7 degrees respectively.”

The season’s coldest day was Dec 11, with a minimum temperature of 6.2 degrees Celsius.
