CHENNAI - The Tamil Nadu government is in the process of formulating an action plan on climate change on the lines of the national action plan, Deputy Chief Minister M.K. Stalin said Tuesday.

Addressing a seminar organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry here, Stalin said: “Our chief minister is in the process of formulating (the plan). Solar energy will be given due significance in this plan.”

The national plan consists of eight national missions representing multi-pronged strategies to achieve key goals in the context of climate change.

It seeks to increase the share of solar in India’s total energy mix.
