NEW DELHI - A day after the capital recorded the coldest Dec 22 in the past five years, the minimum temperature rose a little Thursday. But it was still a misty, chilly morning.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature recorded Thursday was two degrees below the average at 6.4 degrees Celsius.

On Wednesday, the minimum temperature was three degrees below average at 5.2 degrees.

“Today (Thursday), the maximum temperature will hover around 23 degrees. While there was a shallow fog early in the morning, it will give way to clear skies and a bright day,” an IMD official told IANS.

The humidity recorded early in the day was 87 percent.
