NEW DELHI - The capital witnessed another clear and pleasant day Tuesday as the sun shone brightly and the mercury remained at average levels. According to the weather office, similar conditions will prevail in the days ahead.

Fog cover was thin, and air and rail traffic was unaffected, unlike Monday when over a dozen flights were delayed and several others diverted.

“The maximum temperature Tuesday was recorded at 21.8 degrees Celsius and the minimum was recorded at 8.1 degrees, which are normal for this time of the season,” an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The humidity levels oscillated between a high of 90 percent and a low of 35 percent, the official added.

Wednesday will see similar weather, with light mist in the morning and a bright, sunny afternoon.

“The maximum temperature is expected to touch 23 degrees while the minimum may settle at 8 degrees Celsius,” added the IMD official.

According to the IMD, Delhiites can look forward to warmer days ahead as the temperatures are expected to rise further.
