BEIJING - Sending lewd text messages could land mobile phone subscribers in trouble in China and the user’s short message service may be suspended, a media report said Thursday.
China Mobile, the country’s largest cell-phone operator, is working with the public security administrations to crack down on unlawful texting activities, including racketeering and sending lewd content, China Daily reported.
Sending just one unlawful text message would lead to suspension of the texting service.
The report stated that to revive the suspended SMS service, the subscriber would have to submit a written promise to the public security authority not to send unlawful messages again.
