Heat wave grips Orissa

BHUBANESWAR - A heat wave swept parts of Orissa Monday with Talcher town in Angul district recording a maximum temperature of over 40 degrees Celsius.
The industrial town of Talcher, 169 km from here, recorded the highest temperature of 40.2 degrees in the state, an official of Bhubaneswar meteorological centre told IANS.
Titilagarh town in Bolangir district, around 400 km from here, recorded 39 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature recorded at Bhubaneswar, its adjoining Cuttack city, western towns of Jharsuguda and Sambalpur and northern town of Baripada was 36.5, 36.7, 38.1, 37.7 and 36.8 degrees Celsius respectively.
He said there will be little change in the conditions for the next two days.
