At least two people have died of sunstroke — one each in the district of Jajpur and Balasore, an official of the state revenue control room told IANS.
The deaths occurred last week but were confirmed by the local administration today (Monday), he said.
Places where the maximum temperature continued to be high Monday included Jharsuguda (42.4), Sambalpur (42.0), Titilagarh (40.5), Bolangir (40.6), Sundergarh (41.0) and Angul (40.7), an official of the Bhubaneswar meteorological centre said.
The heat wave condition would prevail over some parts of the state during next two days, he said.
