Today is the 20th anniversary of the Hubble Space Telescope. To mark this special occasion Nasa has released a breath taking image of Carina Nebula taken by Hubble, the telescope that was repaired recently.
The image is a stunning one, which shows us the massive gas pillars of nebula. There is a starry region, separated from the pillar. The height of the tallest pillar is 3 light years. There are newly emerging stars, emitting powerful gas jets.
Hubble telescope, named after astronomer Edwin P Hubble, was launched on April 24, 1990. Since then it was used as an important device to fetch some ravishing images of galaxies. 30,000 celestial objects have been seen by Hubble and around half million pictures have been collected by it, till date.
Meanwhile, Nasa satellite has taken some dazzling images of the sun. These images are expected to help scientists in unveiling new solar processes. The images show extreme close-ups of the sun surface. Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) has made it possible for Nasa to bring us the rarest images of sun, we have ever seen.
