Mercury goes past 47 degrees mark in Chhattisgarh

RAIPUR - Mercury was at its highest level in Chhattisgarh Wednesday during the current season, with Bilaspur town recording temperature of 47.1 degrees Celsius, the weatherman said.
Though state capital Raipur recorded 45.4 degrees Celsius, the state’s northern areas registered temperatures of over 47 degrees Celsius. The second most populous town Bilaspur recorded 47.1 degrees Celsius.
The metrological department has forecast a rise of about 2-3 degrees Celsius in the state this week.
As many as 15 people suffering from heatstroke were admitted to the Bhimrao Ambedkar Government Hospital here, taking to 116 the total number of heatstroke patients at the hospital.
