Pre-monsoon showers cool Delhi, more in store

NEW DELHI - Delhiites can look forward to a pleasant weekend ahead after pre-monsoon showers cooled the city Friday, bringing down the temperature by several notches. The met office has predicted more rains in the next two-three days.
The minimum temperature settled at 27.4 degrees Celsius, down from Thursday’s 31.6 degrees. Friday’s low was two notches below average for this time of the year.
The maximum temperature touched 36.5 degrees Celsius which was two degrees below average for this time of the season.
An official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the capital city received 0.2 mm rainfall since Thursday night.
“These are pre-monsoon showers. The national capital is expected to receive more light showers in the next two-three days,” the official said.
“The sky will be partly cloudy Saturday with possibility of rain or thundershowers accompanied with squall in some areas. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 38 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will hover around 28 degrees,” the official said.
