NEW DELHI - Delhiites can look forward to thundershowers Monday, but will have to wait for a few more days for the monsoon as it would miss its June 29 date with the capital, a weather official said.

“The monsoon (usually) reaches Delhi on June 29 but this time it will hit the capital by early July,” B.P. Yadav, India Meteorological Department (IMD) director, told IANS.

According to the IMD, the capital has been receiving pre-monsoon showers for the last few days, which brought the temperature down during the night.

The minimum temperature Monday settled at 28.1 degrees Celsius, a notch below the normal for this time of the season.

“Skies will remain partly cloudy with possibility of thundershowers towards the evening. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 41 degrees Celsius,” said an IMD official.

Humidity was recorded at 65 percent.
