LONDON - You Tube has added a vuvuzela button to its best clips.

Video sharing website YouTube has installed a vuvuzela button which plays the distinctive buzzing soundtrack over its videos.

The button is in the shape of a football on the bottom right hand corner below the screen.

It allows vuvuzela fans to overlay its sound on videos of political events, animal capers and music videos, that often sound hilarious.

However, many technology blogs have condemned the video sharing website’s popularising move, which almost fades out the original sound of the clips, reports The Telegraph.

“YouTube always has had a way with pranks,” Tech Crunch’s Jason Kincaid wrote in his blog.

“Clicking it will activate an endless, incredibly annoying sound that sounds vaguely like a swarm of insects,” he added.

“As if we haven’t been hearing the buzzing sound of vuvuzelas enough in the last couple of days,” Stan Schroeder wrote on social media blog Mashable.

“If you haven’t been following the football World Cup and you’re not familiar with the term, vuvuzela is a plastic horn that produces a loud monotone which starts getting on your nerves in about five seconds,” he added. (ANI)
