NEW YORK - Next time you buy a hot girl a drink, all you need to do is to glide your fingers on your iPhone.

Bartab, a new Facebook and iPhone application, allows users to virtually purchase real adult beverages.

Already available in San Francisco, the service should be up and running in New York by Aug. 19, according to company CEO Steve Johnson.

Bartab allows drinkers to buy a 1-dollar drink voucher and send it to a fellow imbiber through Facebook, text message or an iPhone app.

They then display that ticket to the bartender at select hot spots and fork over a 1-dollar pouring fee, and pronto you get a relatively cheap drink.

“Basically it’s the whole idea of being able to do something real for your friends in your social network,” said Johnson, who wants to extend the concept to other products, like desserts or blue jeans.

“You can participate in your friend’s birthday without having to be there,” he added. (ANI)
