Muggy weather as rains elude Delhi

NEW DELHI - It was hot and humid in the capital Thursday with the mercury staying above average and no rains likely for the second consecutive day.

Delhi recorded a minimum of 29.5 degrees Celsius, two notches above the average for this time of the season. Humidity was recorded at 73 percent.

“Skies will remain clear with maximum temperature hovering around 38 degrees,” an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The weather officials denied possibility of rains in the next two days.

The city has so far received 176.4 mm of rain - 91 percent more than the average.
