NEW DELHI - Brief spells of rain on a cloudy Saturday kept Delhi’s weather cool amid high humidity even as the weatherman predicted a wet weekend ahead.
The city received 3 mm of rainfall from Friday evening to 8.30 a.m. Saturday morning. Rainfall from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Saturday was 4.3 mm, an official said.
While the maximum temperature Saturday settled two notches below average at 32 degrees Celsius, the minimum was recorded at 26.7 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal for this time of the season.
On the humidity front, a high level of 95 percent and a low of 22 percent caused some discomfort to people in the capital when the sun shone brightly between brief spells of showers.
“The weather Sunday will continue to remain cloudy with one or two spells of thundershowers,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department.
The Met department said the maximum temperature in the city Sunday will hover around 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will be around 26 degrees Celsius.
This season Delhi has recorded a total rainfall of 837.8 mm, nearly 42 percent above average for this time of the year.
