Pleasant morning for Delhiites, more rains expected

NEW DELHI - Delhiites woke up to a pleasant morning Tuesday with sudden showers in parts of the city bringing respite from the sultry days. The rains will continue through the day, the weather office said.

“There have been rains in few pockets of the city. The rains will continue during the day as there has been heavy cloud formation in many parts of the city,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The minimum temperature was 26.4 degrees Celsius, a notch below the average, while the maximum temperature was expected to settle at 36.4 degrees, two degrees above the normal.

The official said the humidity levels oscillated between a high of 97 percent and low of 72 percent.

The rain recorded from 8.30 p.m. Monday to 8.30 a.m. Tuesday was 3 mm. Delhi has so far received 226.1 mm of rain, 10 percent below average.
