Delhi stays hot and humid

NEW DELHI - It was hot and humid in Delhi Wednesday with the maximum temperature touching 35 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal. The weather office has forecast rains in the next 24 hours.

The minimum temperature Wednesday settled at 26.6 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the season.

The humidity settled at a high of 92 percent.

“Skies will remain partly cloudy with possibility of thundershowers in some parts of the city in next 24 hours,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

According to the Met office, the maximum temperature Thursday is expected to hover around 36 degrees Celsius.

The rain recorded from 8.30 p.m. Tuesday to 8.30 a.m. Wednesday was 2.7 mm. Delhi has so far received 228.8 mm of rain, 10 percent below average.
