Rains in capital, more to come

NEW DELHI - It was another pleasant day in the capital with Delhiites experiencing rains in few parts of the city towards the evening. It is expected to rain even more Wednesday night, the weatherman said.

“Sky will remain cloudy with possibility of rain and thunderstorms at night,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The minimum temperature was 26.6 degrees Celsius, two notches above average, while the maximum temperature was 31 degrees, two notches below average.

The maximum humidity was on the higher side at 97 percent while the minimum was 76 percent.

“Humidity levels will continue to remain high for another week,” the official informed.

The city recorded 0.8 mm of rainfall Wednesday till 5.30 p.m.

Delhi has recorded 814.6 mm of rainfall so far this monsoon, which is 43 percent above average. In September alone, the capital has received 116.1 mm of rainfall - almost 88 percent above average.
