Bright day, no rain forecast for Games opening

NEW DELHI - It will be a bright and clear sky with no chance of rain when the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games takes place in the capital Sunday, the weather office forecast Saturday.
The national capital, which saw record breaking rains this monsoon, got respite with sunny days last week, with the met officials predicting more of it.
Saturday remained warm and sunny with maximum temperature at 34.2 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the season and the minimum at 23.4 degrees Celsius, a notch above average.
“There is no chance of rainfall tomorrow (Sunday) and the skies will remain clear. It will be a bright and sunny day,” an official of the India Meteorological department (IMD) said.
The maximum temperature Sunday is expected to be around 34 degrees Celsius while the minimum is pegged around 23 degrees Celsius.
The humidity level is likely to remain high on Sunday as well. On Saturday is was between 46 percent and 88 percent.
Around 7,000 men, women and children will be performing in the opening ceremony, divided into six segments, at the revamped Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
