NEW DELHI - It was a sunny morning in Delhi Saturday but the weatherman said the city could see light showers in the evening.
“Some parts of the capital may receive light showers towards the evening. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 32 degrees Celsius,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The minimum temperature recorded was three notches above the average at 20.1 degrees Celsius. The maximum and minimum humidity levels oscillated between 83 and 46 percent, the official said.
Delhi was lashed by heavy showers accompanied by strong winds and hail Friday evening.
The heavy showers had caused waterlogging in places like Mayapuri Chowk, Bhajanpura Crossing, Mandir Marg T-point, Metro Bridge near Kashmere Gate and several areas in Karol Bagh.
The capital received six millimetres of rainfall between 5.30 p.m. Friday and 8.30 a.m. Saturday.
The total seasonal rainfall has now reached 1,010.2 mm, which is around 62 percent above average, the official said.
