Delhi feels the chill as temperatures dip

NEW DELHI - A dip in day and night temperatures, a cool breeze and early morning fog in Delhi have set the stage for winter, the weather office said Tuesday.
“Over the past three days, the minimum temperature has been continuously dipping. Early mornings and late evenings are expected to be chilly for the next few days,” an India Meteorological Department official told IANS.
The maximum temperature recorded was 30.6 degrees Celsius, a degree below the normal.
The minimum temperature dipped to 16.5 degrees Celsius Tuesday from 18.2 degrees Monday. On Sunday, the minimum temperature was 18.2 degrees while it was 20.1 degrees Saturday.
Snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir and the wind pattern over northwest India have brought down the temperatures in Delhi.
“This is the first indication that Delhi is getting colder,” the official said.
He said the weather would be similar Wednesday as well.
Skies will mainly be clear with maximum and minimum temperature expected to hover around 31 degrees Celsius and 17 degrees Celsius respectively.
Humidity was oscillating between 90 and 35 percent.
