Looking at meat could have a calming effect on you

LONDON - Want to calm down your hubby after a stressful day? If yes, then you should cook him a steak, say experts.ontrary to popular belief that red meat makes humans aggressive, scientists have found that it actually has a calming affect.
Psychologist Frank Kachanoff said the belief that a hunk of red meat would prompt snarling behaviour probably dates back to our early ancestors who had to hunt wild animals for food.
He asked 82 participants to look at photos, some of meat.
The participants were told they could “punish” a colleague if he made a mistake while sorting the pictures. The experts thought the meat pictures would prompt the participants to inflict more punishments.
But they made them calmer and less aggressive. This could be because meat triggers associations of meals with family and friends.
“It makes sense that our ancestors would be calm, as they would be surrounded by friends and family at meal time. I would like to run this experiment again, using hunting images,” the Daily Express quoted Kachanoff, from McGill University, as saying. (ANI)
