Sunny days back in Chandigarh, Haryana and Punjab

CHANDIGARH - The sun shone bright over Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh city Saturday, bringing relief after days of cold, foggy weather and leading to a rise in temperature.
We have seen a good rise in both the day and night temperature in most parts of this region in the last couple of days. The mercury remained above normal by two to three degrees Celsius here, a Met official said.
Chandigarh recorded a minimum temperature of 7.8 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal.
After remaining the coldest in the region for many days, Amritsar city of Punjab saw a rise in temperature. It recorded a minimum of 6.2 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal.
Patiala and Ludhiana cities were warmer at 9.4 and 10.1 degrees Celsius respectively.
However, the weatherman has predicted rain in the region in the coming days.
Isolated spells of rain are expected in Punjab and Haryana in the first week of February, the official said.
In the neighbouring state of Haryana, Ambala city recorded a minimum of 7.3 degrees Celsius and Karnal 9 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal.
