Chandigarh warmer, but rain likely

CHANDIGARH - Punjab, Haryana and the joint capital of Chandigarh continued to remain warmer Sunday with the weatherman forecasting rain in the coming days and a dip in the day temperature.

Overcast conditions prevailed in the region. The minimum temperature in Chandigarh was 13.8 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal.

Holy city Amritsar in Punjab recorded a minimum temperature of 12.8 degrees Celsius. Ludhiana and Patiala cities registered minimum temperatures of 13.4 and 12.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Clouds are prevailing in Chandigarh and in most parts of Punjab and Haryana. Due to the presence of western disturbances in the region, we are expecting rainfall by tomorrow (Monday) morning. It would cause the day temperature to plunge, a met official said here.

In Haryana, Ambala, Hisar and Karnal cities recorded minimum temperatures of 12.3, 14.3 and 10.2 degrees Celsius, respectively.
