Rain in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh

CHANDIGARH - Various parts of Punjab, Haryana and their joint capital Chandigarh had isolated spells of rain Monday. The weatherman has forecast heavy showers till the middle of the week.

“We had mild spells of rainfall in Chandigarh, most parts of Punjab and some parts of Haryana. Patiala, Ludhiana, Amritsar and Bathinda towns were lashed with rainfall, bringing back some chill in the region,” a met official said here.

“We are expecting similar conditions to prevail in the region for the next three-four days. Our department has predicted heavy showers in various parts of Punjab and Haryana.”

The minimum temperature in Chandigarh was 13.8 degrees Celsius, three degrees above average. The city has received 2.6 mm rainfall since Sunday.

Holy city Amritsar in Punjab recorded a minimum temperature of 13.8 degrees Celsius. Ludhiana and Patiala cities registered minimum temperatures of 14.2 and 13.5 degrees Celsius respectively.

In Haryana, Ambala city recorded a minimum temperature of 14.1 degrees Celsius, six degrees above average.

Hisar and Karnal towns recorded lows of 16.2 degrees Celsius each.
