Light showers in Delhi, more expected

NEW DELHI - It was a pleasant morning in the national capital Tuesday with light showers and a cool breeze greeting Delhiites and the weather office predicting more rains during the day.

“The sky will remain cloudy with spells of rain, one or two may be heavy,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

Delhi received 22 mm of rainfall from Monday night to 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The minimum temperature settled at 24.4 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the season. The humidity was recorded at a high of 97 percent.

According to the Delhi Traffic Police, vehicular movement was normal.

Delhi has seen one of its wettest monsoons this year with the seasonal average of rainfall being 57 percent above the average at 1,013.7 mm.
