Sunny Sunday in Delhi, rains unlikely

NEW DELHI - Sunday morning was bright and sunny in Delhi and the weatherman said no rains are in store in the capital in the next few days.

“The skies will remain clear with the maximum temperature expected to hover around 33 degrees Celsius,” an official from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

Delhi Sunday recorded a minimum of 23.2 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the season.

The humidity levels continued to remain high with the maximum at 95 percent.

The national capital witnessed one of its wettest monsoons this year, resulting in heavy waterlogging and flood threats. The rainfall received so far crossed 1,031.5 mm, 62 percent above the seasonal average.
