SHIMLA - The minimum temperature fell marginally Saturday across Himachal Pradesh, but the day was quite pleasant with sunny conditions, the Met Office said here.

Keylong, the district headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti district, was the coldest place in the state with a minimum of minus 1.2 degrees Celsius. The town saw a low of minus 1 degree Celsius Friday. The day temperature in Keylong Saturaday was a mere 9.9 degrees Celsius against Friday’s 10.5 degrees Celsius.

However, most of the high-altitude areas in the district groaned under chilly conditions with a minimum temperature ranging between minus 5 and minus 10 degrees Celsius.

Kalpa town in Kinnaur district recorded a low of 1.5 degrees Celsius, while Sundernagar and Bhuntar recorded a low of 7.7 degrees and 6 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The towns recorded a high of 15.6 degrees, 22.9 degrees and 23.4 degrees Celsius.

The Queen of Hills, as Shimla was fondly called by the British, recorded the night temperature at 6.9 degrees Celsius, whereas the day temperature was 16.3 degrees Celsius.

The Met Office has predicted mainly dry weather across the state Sunday.
