Himachal in line for more rain, snow

SHIMLA - The continuing cold conditions are expected to aggravate in Himachal Pradesh - as well as northern India - with the weather office Wednesday forecasting more rain and snowfall in the next two days.
“There are chances of rainfall and snowfall in the state Jan 20 and 21,” Meteorological Office director Manmohan Singh told IANS.
He said the western disturbances - storm systems originating from the Caspian Sea and moving across the Afghanistan-Pakistan region - would be active in the region.
“Some areas in the mid and high hills are likely to witness another spell of snowfall,” he added.
The minimum temperature in Shimla recorded a fall of one degree, staying at 1.1 degrees.
Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district remained the coldest in the state with a low of minus 16.8 degrees against Tuesdays minus 11.4 degrees.
Kalpa in Kinnaur district recorded a low of minus 6 degrees, while it was minus 0.6 degrees at Bhuntar and 2.5 degrees at Dharamsala.
