NEW DELHI - A day after rains lashed the city, Delhi woke up to a bright and chilly Monday morning, with the minimum temperature settling a notch below average at 9.6 degrees Celsius.

Delhi received 14.9 mm of rainfall Sunday, while the total rainfall this season was 42.4 mm.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) attributed the rains to low pressure over Rajasthan but have forecast clear skies during the day.

“Skies will remain clear but would turn partly cloudy towards the night. The maximum temperature is expected to settle around 23 degrees Celsius,” said an IMD official.

The weather office said rains could return mid-week due to western disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir.

The humidity was recorded at 95 percent.
