SAN FRANCISCO (GaeaTimes.com)- Stephen Hawking is back with another earth shattering statement and this time he has explained it all in a book. The highly anticipated new book from the legendary theoretical physicist promises to answer some of the questions about God. It might not make the religious type really happy, but Stephen Hawking claims that gravity might have had a greater role to play in the creation of the universe than God. In the new book, he has argued that the Big Bang was a result of the laws of physics rather than God’s efforts.
The book is co written by Leonard Mladinow and theoretically challenges the theory put forward by Sir Isaac Newton that the universe was created by God. In the book Stephen Hawking has explained that due to the forces of gravity and other laws in physics, the universe could have created itself out of nothing. He said that spontaneous creation could be the reason why everything exists.
Last month Stephen Hawking was in the news when he stated that the best bet for mankind would be start looking for another place to stay apart from earth. He had explained that relying on earth is like keeping all the eggs in one basket and said that the basket could be in danger. He also explained that the selfish and aggressive nature of humans could result in such global warning that all the water in the world might evaporate. He won global recognition in 1988 for his book ‘A Brief History of Time’. He is also known for his research on black holes.
