NEW DELHI - Delhiites experienced a nippy day Thursday as the winter sun played hide and seek among the clouds and the maximum temperature recorded was below the average for this time of the year.

At 22.6 degrees Celsius, the maximum temperature was a notch below the average. The minimum settled at 8.5 degrees Celsius, average for this time of the season.

The humidity levels were between a high of 94 percent and a low of 45 percent.

Earlier in the morning, a bright sun cleared the blanket of shallow fog that had been hovering over the city for the past couple of days.

Friday will again witness similar weather conditions, according to an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

“A cover of light fog will envelope the city early morning and there will be clear skies during the day. The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 23 and 8 degrees Celsius respectively,” said the official.
