He added: “Due to the increase in moisture content in the atmosphere we would have thick fog during nights and early mornings in this region.”
The centrally administered city, Chandigarh, recorded a minimum temperature of 10.5 degrees Celsius Friday morning.
In Punjab, the holy city of Amritsar was the coldest at 5.6 degrees Celsius. Patiala and Ludhiana recorded a minimum temperature of 6.1 and 7.4 degrees Celsius respectively.
