Sunny but chilly morning for Delhi

NEW DELHI - The sun broke through a misty morning Thursday but Delhi residents felt the chill as the minimum temperature dipped to 6.4 degrees Celsius, two degrees below the average.

“The early morning mist and shallow fog will clear up and the day will be bright and sunny. The night is expected to be colder,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official told IANS.

“The maximum temperature is likely to be around 22 degrees,” the weatherman predicted.

The maximum and minimum humidity levels recorded Wednesday were 97 and 41 percent respectively.

The coldest day of the season so far was Dec 11 with the minimum temperature recorded at 6.2 degrees.
