Bhopal records lowest temperature in 60 years

BHOPAL - Dew turned into frost Wednesday as Bhopal recorded a minimum of 2.3 degrees Celsius — its lowest temperature in the last 60 years.

The state capital recorded a minimum of 0.6 degree Celsius Jan 18, 1935.

The residents of Kolar area of Bhopal found that dew had turned to frost on leaves. Kolar is some nine km from the state headquarters.

The dew also turned to frost in major areas of Baitul district where the minimum temperature was recorded at 0.6 degree Celsius. The minimum temperature in Umaria district was recorded at zero degree.

Madhya Pradesh Met Department director D.P. Dubey said most places in the state were likely to witness minimum temperatures of 4 degrees Celsius or less till Thursday.
