NEW DELHI - The severe chill of the past few days gave way to a warm bright day Wednesday with the mercury level going past the 20 degrees Celsius-mark for the first time this year.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Wednesday’s maximum temperature was 21.3 degrees Celsius, average for this time of the season. The minimum was at 3.9 degrees, three notches below average.
There was some fog early in the morning but it did not affect flight operations at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport, an official said.
“There was shallow fog early morning but as the day advanced, it was clear and bright. The humidity oscillated between a minimum and maximum of 59 and 97 percent,” an IMD official said.
The official further said that Thursday’s minimum and maximum temperatures were expected to hover between 7 and 19 degrees Celsius, respectively.
