Delhi experiences light showers (Second Lead)

NEW DELHI - A cloudy Monday in Delhi and surrounding areas culminated in light showers in the evening. The weatherman has predicted rain for Tuesday as well.

“Light showers started around 7 p.m. and it rained in almost all the areas in Delhi. Rain and thundershowers will continue even tomorrow (Tuesday),” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

According to the IMD, the city and surrounding areas received 0.1 mm of rainfall till 9 p.m.

The minimum temperature in the city was five notches above average Monday at 14.7 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature settled at 22.2 degrees, two notches below what is the average for this time of the season.

The humidity level oscillated between 66-81 percent during the day.

“Tuesday’s minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to settle at around 14 and 21 degrees Celsius respectively,” the official added.

Delhi Sunday experienced a warm day with the maximum temperature touching 28.8 degrees Celsius, six notches above average.
