NEW DELHI - Cases of smuggling of endangered species through private airlines have come to the notice of the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB), Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh told parliament Tuesday.

Replying to a question in Rajya Sabha, Ramesh said the WCCB is maintaining vigil against smuggling of endangered species through various modes, including private airlines.

Ramesh said the porous borders of the country are often used to smuggle out wildlife and wildlife products from India.
