WASHINGTON (Gaea Times.com)- A new planet known as Gliese 581g has been discovered after a ten year research and is being seen as having the potential for harboring life. Steven Vogt announced the news on Wednesday and said that it could be the Goldilock’s planet and seems very much like earth. There is though no evidence yet of water existing on that planet, the chances of it being there on the planet is present. The planet happens to be in exactly the perfect position in the Libra Constellation thus making it neither very hot nor very cold. As it does not spin one side of the planet is expected to be frigid and the other always torrid.

Steven Vogt said that one could evolve on the hot side like a desert lizard or like a polar bear on the cold side. In the comfy zone in between the two sides one could move around wearing shirt sleeves. Incidentally it is this temperate zone or region where the formation of amino acids can take place. The first Goldilocks planet as it is being called is reported to have three times the mass of earth and a rocky surface. The sky on the planet appears to be white and gives the impression of twilight or dusk given one’s perception of it.

The Goldilocks planet though is twenty light years away and it will take hundreds of years for us to reach there. Steven Vogt though said that in order to learn more it may be possible to send a robotic probe to the planet by using an experimental nuclear propulsion system.
