Bear shot dead after it enters Russian school

Moscow, Jan 9 (IANS/RIA Novosti) A bear broke into a school in Russia’s far eastern region and was shot dead by a police officer after it tried to attack him, police said Sunday.
The animal, wounded by hunters, entered the school in the Primorye Territory Friday.
A police officer arrived at the scene and the bear attacked him and ripped off his clothes.
The officer had to open fire and kill the animal, whose body was later given to a local agricultural academy, where it will be studied.
“The animal became aggressive, and we had no other way out than to shoot,” a police officer said.
No civilian was injured in the incident.
