NEW DELHI - A sunny Thursday greeted the capital, with forecast for a warm day. The mercury was 6.5 degrees in the morning, a notch below average.

The maximum temperature is likely to be around 22 degrees Celsius, almost a degree more than the average for this time of the year, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

“Winters seem to be easing as the temperature rises, giving the city warmer days,” an IMD official said.

The sky may, however, be partly cloudy towards the evening. But rainfall is not likely.
