Cold wave grips Orissa

BHUBANESWAR - A severe cold wave continued to grip Orissa Wednesday.

Phulbani in Kandhamal district, some 200 km from the capital, recorded 3.6 degrees, the lowest minimum in the state this season, an official said.

Low temperatures were also recorded at several places such as Sundergarh (4.9 degrees), Sambalpur (5.1), Keonjhar (5.4) and Jharsuguda (6.7), said S.C. Sahu, director of the Bhubaneswar meteorological centre.

Bhubaneswar and Puri were warmer Wednesday at 10.8 and 12.7 degrees respectively.
