MUMBAI - A young leopard’s body was found in a water tank in a central suburb of Mumbai near the Sanjay Gandhi National Park Tuesday, an animal activist said.

“The leopard was seen roaming around an unused water tank near a lake in the Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Bhandup. Another female leopard, apparently the dead leopard’s mother, was also seen in the area,” said Nisha Subramanian, an animal activist from Plant & Animals Welfare Society, Mumbai.

This is the third accidental death of a leopard in the last one month in and around the national park.
