Overcast skies lead to mercury rising in Delhi

NEW DELHI - A cloud cover over the capital resulted in the mercury rising much above the average Monday morning, paving the way for a warm day, the met department said.

“Because of a cloud cover and southerly winds, the minimum temperature has risen considerably - seven degrees above the average - Monday. It was recorded at 14.6 degrees Celsius,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

The maximum temperature is expected to touch 28 degrees Celsius.

“As per our forecast, the weather conditions will remain the same tomorrow (Tuesday). Only around Wednesday, the minimum temperature will see a drop again,” the official added.
