NEW DELHI - The national capital Monday had a warm and cloudy day with the temperature staying above the average.

The maximum temperature was 26.2 degrees in Delhi, four notches above the average, while the minimum stood at 14.6 degrees Celsius, seven notches above average, the weather office said.

“Because of a cloud cover and southerly winds, the day temperature rose considerably Monday. There is a possibility of light rains later in the night,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

The weather office has forecast partly cloudy sky Tuesday with maximum and minimum temperature around 25 and 9 degrees respectively.
