Rainfall lashes Chandigarh, nearby areas

CHANDIGARH - Rains lashed Chandigarh and surrounding areas Monday evening, and officials predicted more showers.
“We are expecting rain and thundershowers in the next 24 hours. We are also expecting a fall in both day and nigh temperature in most parts of Punjab and Haryana,” said an official.
Chandigarh recorded a maximum temperature of 24.2 degrees while the mercury settled at a low of 18.7 degrees Celsius Monday.
